GARDEN GROVE (AP) — Police say a man was stabbed to death and another man wounded after an argument broke out at a July 4th party in Garden Grove.
Authorities say 23-year-old Emanuel Pennington was killed and 28-year-old Jairo Gaona was injured early Tuesday.
Police say officers were dispatched to a fight involving three or four people and found Pennington dead on the sidewalk outside a home where family and friends had gathered to celebrate July 4th. Gaona was taken to UCI Medical Center and is in stable condition.
Police spokesman Lt. Jeff Nightengale says a suspect has been identified but remains at large. He declined to release additional information.
Police are investigating the events that led up to the incident.
