LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Police are searching for a 9-year-old boy who apparently ran away from home after getting into an argument with his stepmother.

Kevin Rodriguez, who is from El Salvador, has been in the United States for about a month and speaks only Spanish.

He apparently left his home in the 1500 block of East 22nd Street about 7 p.m. Saturday, Los Angeles police Lt. Andrew Neiman of the Newton Station said.

Rodriguez is about 4 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 100 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a red shirt, blue pants and was barefoot, Neiman said.

Anyone with more information as to his whereabouts is urged to call police at (323) 846-6547.
