(CBS) — The Lakers will make another change behind the microphone this season.

Bill MacDonald will join Stu Lantz as the Lakers play-by-play man for television and John Ireland will do the play-by-play for radio with Mychal Thompson.

Joel Meyers and Spiro Dedes previously handled the play-by-play duties for the Lakers.

MacDonald is the third full time play-by-play announcer the Lakers have hired since Chick Hearn.

  1. David says:

Horrible!!! MacDonald should stay with High School sports considering he SUCKS. Spiro was an AMAZING radio announcer. Lakers made a bad decision here

  2. Ron says:

I was SOOOOO tired of listening to Joel Meyers, but I don’t know if Billy Mac is the right choice. He will spend most of his time talking about himself and staring into the mirror.
