Kershaw Dominates Tigers In 2-Hit Shutout

(CBS) -- Clayton Kershaw was masterful both on the mound and at the plate on Monday night at Dodger Stadium, as the Dodgers beat the  Detroit Tigers 4-0.

The 23-year-old went the distance for the 3rd time in his career, allowing just two hits and striking out 11, including the last three Tigers in the 9th inning.

With the Dodgers leading 2-0 in the 8th, Don Mattingly allowed Kershaw to come up with the bases loaded and two outs, and the southpaw delivered with a 2-run single to RF, giving Los Angeles a commanding 4-0 lead.

Kershaw pitched with the lead most of the night, in the bottom of the 1st, Juan Uribe slugged his 4th HR of the season, off former Dodger Brad Penny.

Father's Day hero Dioner Navarro added an RBI double in the 6th inning and James Loney collected three hits.

Dodgers pitching has now gone 19 consecutive innings without allowing a run, going back to the 8th inning on Saturday night.

Kershaw has now allowed just an ER in his last 16 innings.
