2 SoCal Men Still Missing After Kern River Rafting Mishap

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Two Southern California men are still missing after being tossed into the frigid waters of Kern River during a rafting trip.

Minh Tu Quang Nguyen, 25, of Westminster and 22-year-old Scott Neacato of Los Angeles were rafting in Tulare County when their raft overturned, according to the Orange County Register.

Neither men were wearing life jackets and friends told authorities that one of the men does not know how to swim, sheriff's deputies told the newspaper.

The accident occurred about a mile north of Gold Ledge in the Johnsondale area on June 13.
