Santa Clarita Woman Found Dead, Husband Still Missing

SANTA CLARITA (CBS) — Officials report that one half a Santa Clarita couple missing for almost a week has been found dead.

Authorities late Friday reported that Renata Klein, a 59-year-old Santa Clarita woman, has been found dead.

The woman's husband, Dusan Klein, is still missing. He is also 59.

The couple were last seen last Saturday about 7 p.m.

Mrs. Klein's body was found in the Angeles National Forest.

The couple left their home on Wildwind Road in a gold 1999 Jeep Cherokee with California license plate 4FLN519.

Police would not describe Mrs. Klein as a homicide victim but confirmed they were conducting a "death investigation."

The couple's 10-year-old cocker spaniel, named Cindy, was also missing.

Saturday afternoon, CBS2's Ann Sterling reported that an eviction notice had been placed on the couple's home's front door on Friday.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call sheriff's Detective Diane Harris at (323) 890-5500.
