LOS ANGELES (CBS) — CBS Investigative reporter David Goldstein has learned that a top LAX official has resigned his post after allegations surfaced that he was sexting and sending sexually explicit messages on his LAX-issued phone.

Goldstein tracked Michael Molina down at his house but Molina had no comment.

LAX CEO Gina Marie Lindsey confirmed the resignation to Goldstein late Wednesday afternoon.

Goldstein asked Lindsey if the allegations of sexting were true and she replied, “There were some allegations of that. I asked him about it and he resigned.”

Molina was with LAX for three years. His reported salary: $192,400.

Mayor Villaraigosa declined to comment about the resignation but said if the allegations were true, it was certainly not appropriate, “on any city issued phone…or any phones for that matter.”

Prior to working for LAX, Goldstein reports that Molina was a chief of staff for council member Janice Hahn.

Goldstein is as bad a Joel Grover…snitches….

    • Concerned Citizen

You are a fool richard e. If you are not doing anything wrong, then you have nothing to fear. LAX has a large group of bad employees that are lazy and do not follow the City’s rules. Reports like this just tell us the truth. Hopefully, Wendy Greul begins an audit at LAX. Something is not right.

      • Ron

        Concerned Citizen,

Unfortunately, as we have seen lately, it is NOT just LAX employees. It seems to be the accepted behavior of TOO many city department employees.

Thanks to David Goldstein and Wendy Gruel for exposing the city corruption and government waste.

    • lydia

more interesting than the sexting isue are his qualifications and his career path:
Prior to working for LAX, Goldstein reports that Molina was a chief of staff for council member Janice Hahn.”
I am a 27 years old doctor, mature and beautiful.and now I am seeking a good man who can give me real love , so i got a username Andromeda2002 on–s’e'ek’c'ou’ga’r.c óm– .it is the first and best clu’b forwealthy people and their admirers. e…you don’t have to be rich ,but you can meet one there ,maybe you wanna che’ck it out or tell your friends !

All she has to dois this and the City will lose half of Tony’s appointments! Wht are we promoting command staff in Police and Fire ?

    • CAB

      Learn how to spell, idiot!

      • A. Einstein

Nicolas Cruz no can spell gud becuz he be student at LAUSD.

  • Sharona

Just wait… There will be a explosion of these…you KNOW other gov’t officials are scrambling to erase all their sexting on their gov’t issued phones right about now… But they probably don’t even know how!! lol!!! Bunch of overpaid numbskulls…

  • Mary Elizabeth

Big freakin’ wow! Vill a GROSS a has no right to have any comment regarding the matter. The freakin’ msyor had a FULL blown affair on his wife – let’s be real! Sure, the guy shouldn’t use the company phone to talk horn ee, but Vill a GROSS a is the last person to say sexting is wrong – he knows nothing about faithfulness or honesty – why give him an opinion. Cracks me up.

    • Duh!

      So true.

And now – Mayor Villaraigosa declined to comment about the resignation but said if the allegations were true, it was certainly not appropriate, “on any city issued phone…or any phones for that matter.”

So it should not happen on any phone according to the mayor. Looks like he wants to start monitoring personal cell phones that people have bought and paid for themselves to make sure that he can control what is being said. Sure sounds like the socialist party’s (Democratic party for those of you who don’t know this) agenda to control your life.

  • More LAX Misconduct

According to Executive Director Gina Marie Lindsay: Molina’s responsibilities are being expanded to include a newly structured customer service function. “These new responsibilities put him at the center of LAWA’s critical engagement with communities, agencies and government, along with its delivery of passenger service.”

Can you tell us how texting sexually explicit emails put Molina in the center of LAWA’s critical engagement with the community? Molina was the director of external affairs and he took his job literally. You have a keen eye for surrounding yourself with misfits who get a City paycheck.

  • rich

im lost here why is it a big deal that he sent sexual msgs?? were they to a minor?? if not and if they were to an adult whats the big deal?? maybe its not cool to use the business phone but lets get really real here who out there that has internet on their job computer NEVER used it to send personal e-mails or mearly check your personal mail or better yet surf FACEBOOK MY SPACE or any number of other NOT WORK RELATED things this is a waste of time to deal with and even more of a waste of time to report on ill bet you the reporter who did this story had some non work related site or mail app open on his/her computer as they wrote this story lol

    • Ron

      Rich,

In case you aren’t aware, many businesses can track your computer or cell phone use and if found doing similar personal communications on company equipment and company time, you COULD be FIRED. Of course unless you are a UNION member and then they would probably promote you or give you a raise.

SO WATCH OUT or you WILL find out why it is a BIG deal.

      • rich

yes i know it can be tracked mostly because i own an small company and employ 40 people all who have net acess and i know they check mail and do personal stuff on my dime and I DO NOT CARE as long as what they do is not agaisnt a law and as long as they get their work done

    • JMWinPR

      Dear Rich:
Imagine for a moment that you are a stockholder in a company. Upon investigationr you discovered that one of your employees who is being paid 192 K plus bennies is sexting on your companies phone on your time. Frankly if I were paying someone 192K plus bennies I would expect him to be working full time.
Well guess what????? substitute taxpayer for stockholder.
You should think your subject through before you post inanities.

      • rich

once again as long as what ever his/her daily job is gets done I DO NOT CARE its not like this is a new concept men and women both have for as long as communication devices existed in the work place have used them to do personal stuff even our grand parents likely used the office phone to call their mate and whisper sweet nothings it IS NOT IMPORTANT and as for TAX PAYER money i STILL DONT CARE talkin dirty has never been against the law as long as its done to another adult who does not object no one has stated that i have read that this person did not get his work done he just seems to have talked or texted also so whats the big deal??? the lady that over sees my staff makes 95g per year between pay and bennies i once saw her doing her paper work while on MY OFFICE PHONE with her husband haveing phone sex with him I DID NOT CARE she as still getting my work done and pleaseing her man so again WHO REALLY CARES

    • Just the Facts

      Rich:

So you do not mind he is using the tax dollars you paid which is paying for the phone/service he is using, and also the tax dollars you paid that are paying his salery while he gets his jollies?

So you voted for Villa re grosa, right?

      • rich

for the record im a rep. i do not care that he is or was sexting someone on the job if as i said HE WAS STILL GETTING HIS WORK DONE i am well aware that it does not take every min of a persons day to get their work done so if he took a break or was on his lunch or what ever and sent these texts to whom ever then why shouold i care? sending sexual msgs is not a crime and as far as i am concerned is not a breach of anyones job requirements so NO I DO NOT MIND WHAT HE DID

Thank You Mr. Goldstein for your fine investigative journalism. Unfortunately there are cowardly individuals who want to make idiotic comments but who live their lives in the shadows and who find time to write stupid comments because their lives are pathetic like this UNETHICAL LINDSEY character before me.. Us normal viewers continue to appreciate your great work..Please bring us more and police these state, local, officials…

  • Ray H.

Gina Marie Lindsay should be fired by now…obviously a woman who doesnt know what the hell is going on in her department.. She still seems arrogant to the max. To her nothing seems to be a big deal. I guess sexting is accepted..and i thought only kids were doing this. Pay attention Rich E.. It takes one to know one..just cause you own a company with 40 employees does’nt mean you are’nt a pervert. feeling guilty about exposure maybe?

  • wwgt

    ok…… fiddy cent

  • holymacro

more interesting than the sexting isue are his qualifications and his career path:

“Prior to working for LAX, Goldstein reports that Molina was a chief of staff for council member Janice Hahn.”

That’s how you get those “well paying jobs”.

  • Natteringnabob

So the head of the airport finds out that one of her supposedly trusted people is doing something improper on a work cell phone and she gets rid of him. Tell us, Ray H. and the others – what exactly is the problem with that? Sounds like she’s doing what she’s supposed to do.

  • Ruben

People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones!

Many people are guilty of sexting. It is a form of expression and yes it’s naughty. It is legal and well yes unprofessional but who cares. Why is this such a big deal? Many of us are naughty by nature and I say if he didn’t rape anyone and the text was welcome, what’s the problem?

We have bigger problems in this country and we are consistently side tracked by normal human behavior that we all have. The media makes to much about nothing……

    • Stew

“We have bigger problems in this county…”

Why are people always using this expression to deflect from an issue? We might have “bigger” problems in this country but this is a — this is THE — problem at hand, so address it.

Sexting is fine. Sexting on the job on a company phone is not acceptable and someone doing it is a total idiot.

Useless public workers, yet another violation of our rights. Add it to the list of gov’t violations of our rights:
They violate the 1st Amendment by placing protesters in cages, banning books like “America Deceived II” and censoring the internet.
They violate the 2nd Amendment by confiscating guns.
They violate the 4th and 5th Amendment by molesting airline passengers.
They violate the entire Constitution by starting undeclared wars for foreign countries.
Impeach Obama, vote for Ron Paul.

Hey Mayor, How much more can u take. The Police Chief is weak and the police department is sub=standard, the Assistant Executive director is sexting and what ddo you think your LAX CEO Gina Marie Lindsay is doing. SHe laughing all the way to the bank. If you fail to do anything I an glad that you have been termed out. Show all of LA how much you love your city and clean house at the airport.

    • Jim Bob

The police department is sub standard? They are trained by LAPD, does that make them sub standard? How much has LAPD lawsuits cost the city taxpayers?
