LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Firefighters pulled a man out of a burning overturned vehicle that went off the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway and crashed onto an intersection in the University Park area early Tuesday.
The crash near West Jefferson Boulevard and South Hope Street was reported at 2:04 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball said.
Firefighters found the driver conscious, Kimball said.
He was taken to a California Hospital Medical Center in unknown condition, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.
The vehicle, a Chevrolet Impala, sustained major rollover damage, Kimball said. It was unclear how the driver crashed the vehicle.
California Highway Patrol was handling the investigation.
