LA County Gas Prices Continue To Fall, Dipping Below $4 Mark

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell under $4 Wednesday for the first time since March 24, decreasing 1.2 cents to $3.991.

The 33rd consecutive daily decrease dropped the average price 5.9 cents below what it was one week ago and 29.5 cents lower than one month ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

However, the average price is 92.1 cents higher than one year ago.

The average price has fallen 30 cents since the streak began May 7. It rose 43 times in 45 days before the streak of decreases began.

The Orange County average price also fell Wednesday for the 33rd consecutive day to $3.966, the lowest since March 22.

In Riverside County, the average price fell to $3.953.
