LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The sister of the slain wife of “Survivor” producer Bruce Beresford Redman wants a judge to approve her offer to buy her sister’s Brazilian restaurant for one dollar.

Carla Burgos, the sister of Monica Beresford Redman, claims her late sibling’s business is in “dire financial shape” and is no longer profitable, RadarOnline reported Tuesday.

The Westside eatery Zabumba is currently being operated and managed by Burgos and her other sister, Jeane, after Monica was found dead in Cancun in April 2010.

A filing in Los Angeles County Superior Court claims that “despite the petitioners tireless efforts, Zabumba is not profitable and continues to lose money. Petitioners allege that the restaurant has zero value.”

The judge is expected to rule on the request in June.

Bruce Beresford Redman is currently in custody at the Men’s Central Jail in downtown L.A. while awaiting the extradition process to Cancun set to begin in July.

If it has zero value, they should close the doors immediately. This is just a legal grab of someones property.. This man has not been convicted and may never be. Why should he and his child be deprived of their possessions while these tow women make a living from his investment? I say, kick them out!

Why should that “man” be allowed to use his dead wife’s efforts to continue to support a longtime mistress who he was involved with prior to his wife’s death and was the reason for the marriage breakdown?
In other words, what the heck are you trying to imply – that this sad excuse for a human being is innocent of the allegations that have piled up against him?
The accused is not entitled to her possessions, nor her work efforts. It is my opinion that he owes the family of Monica more than his worldly belongings – he should pay with his life! His criminal actions against Monica are what drove the business into the ground, the property has value to the surviving sisters of Monica and they should be allowed to rebuild her dreams so that her children have something to remember her by that hasn’t been tainted by a lying, cheating, murderous POS father.

Sheriff Baca needs to release this “man”. Murderers from south of the USA border are being released because of budget cuts – this USA citizen deserves to be released. Bruce should not beforced to sell this business for $1.00.

I agree with Mary, I was at Zabumba not long ago, In fact celebrated my Birthday there with new friends that I had just met.

Was treated very well by Carla, whom I could sence was trying very hard to keep her Sister memory alive, not to gain from it, the place is a warm hole in the wall type of place not something that cost a lot of money Infact it is Rented in Calver City, Not Hollywood or down town LA.
I say we should show support to the family that has lost a love one.
They are not gaining from this just trying to keep a Sister memory alive.
