Crews Battle Small Brush Fire Near Perris
PERRIS (CBS) — Fire crews battled a small brush fire west of Perris Monday afternoon, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Reports of the fire, located at the intersection of Yucca and Rocky Hills roads, came in to authorities shortly after 1 p.m.
Ten engine crews and a water tender, numbering about 70 personnel, worked to contain the fire, with the help of two air tankers dropping fire retardant, a fire department spokeswoman said.
No homes or other structures were threatened Monday and the cause of the fire was not immediately known.
