LOS ANGELES (AP) —
Airline spokesman Anthony Black said Thursday that the Boeing 737-800 was approaching the Los Angeles area Wednesday night when an indicator warned of a possible problem with the hydraulic system.
He said the aircraft, which was carrying some 60 people and destined for Orange County’s John Wayne airport, was redirected to LAX, where Delta mechanics and maintenance crews were available to respond.
Black said mechanics repaired a pump in the hydraulic system and the aircraft will be back in service Thursday.
The Angels were returning from a game at Kansas City, where they lost to the Royals 2-0.
