SAN JACINTO (CBS) — An assault victim found dead in his car was identified Tuesday as a 23-year-old resident of San Jacinto.

Eddie Leal was attacked around 2 a.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of Roanoke Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were called to the location to investigate a report of someone being assaulted. They discovered Leal in his car, according to Sgt. Todd Torrenti. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Torrenti would not disclose the circumstances of Leal’s death or whether investigators had identified any suspects.
