Eric Wise Transfers From UCI To USC

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Forward Eric Wise will transfer to Southern California after playing his first three seasons at UC Irvine.

Wise will have to sit out the 2011-12 season, but will be eligible to play in 2012-13.

Wise averaged 16.3 points and 8.1 rebounds while starting 18 of 20 games for UC Irvine last season. He led the Anteaters in rebounding and was second on the team in scoring. The 6-foot-6, 240-pounder was an honorable mention All-Big West selection last season.

Wise's cousin, Jaha Wilson, played for USC in the mid-1990s. Wise's uncle, Willie Wise, played in the ABA and NBA in the 1970s.
