Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (May 16)

STUDIO CITY (CBS) — It's going to feel a little more like March than May as rain is in the forecast this week.

An upper level low pressure system is going to drop into Central California over the next 24 hours. A trailing cold front will bring rain to most of the LA area. The wet weather starts late Monday afternoon for the Central Coast. It arrives in our area after midnight with steady rain into Tuesday morning's commute. Then it will taper off into scattered showers.

Late Tuesday, another wave of moisture will bring one more shot of steady rain. Totals will reach 1/2 to 1.00". Snow levels could drop to 5000' with about 3 to 6 inches making it to the ground. Los Angeles should stay cool through Thursday before we get a little pop in temperatures on Friday.

Coastal - upper 60s
Basin - low to mid 70s
Valleys - upper 60s
Deserts - low 60s
Mountains - low 50s
