Florida Man Accused Of Funding Money To The Taliban Appears In LA Court

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A Florida man indicted on charges of supporting Pakistani terrorists has made his initial court appearance in Los Angeles.

Irfan Khan was arrested over the weekend and appeared Monday before a U.S. magistrate judge. The 37-year-old is requesting bond and a hearing on that matter will take place Thursday.

Khan, his younger brother and father each faces charges of conspiracy and providing material support to terrorists.

Authorities say Irfan Khan funneled nearly $3,000 to Pakistan Taliban supporters in mid-2008 and another $500 in July 2009.

They also say he and his father were heard on an FBI recorded conversation in June 2009 where the elder Khan called for an attack on the Pakistani Assembly that would resemble a suicide bombing of a Marriott hotel in Islamabad nine months earlier.

I’d have just 3 question for him:

    –Are you Muslim?
    –Are you foreign born?
–Are you a foreign born Muslim?

And then, I’d rest my case.
