RIVERSIDE (AP) — A foreclosure home cleanup crew has found a World War II practice bomb in a Southern California backyard.
Discovery of the device at about 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday created a brief stir as police sealed off Riverside area streets for about an hour while police bomb technicians examined the bomb.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise says the rusty practice bomb didn’t contain any explosives.
Police Lt. Jaybee Brennan says in a news release that it’s not known how long the practice bomb was at the abandoned home.
