SANTA ANA (AP) — A convicted child molester has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison after he pleaded guilty possessing thousands of child pornographic images and books on child rape, torture and murder.

Vaughn Robert Biby changed his plea Tuesday before opening statements were to begin in his jury trial. The plea came a day after hearing from prospective jurors that they didn’t want to view the volumes of child porn that would be brought as evidence in the case.

Fullerton police discovered child pornography in Biby’s house during a routine sex offender check March 25.

Prosecutors said his prior convictions were for molesting children in Orange and Los Angeles counties in the 1990s.
