LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Dalai Lama has canceled a scheduled lecture at University of California-Los Angeles because of ill health.
A statement on his website says that the 75-year-old Tibetan leader has a sore throat and was advised to rest before flying from Tokyo to Los Angeles.
He was scheduled to arrive on Sunday but that was pushed back to Monday, forcing the cancellation of the Monday morning event at UCLA.
UCLA says an afternoon symposium on Buddhism and neuroscience will take place without his participation.
