A passerby discovered the male victim lying on the side of the road at Chantry Flats Campground around 5:40 p.m. Thursday, said Deputy Mark Pope of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.
The victim, wounded from a gunshot to the upper body, was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead, Pope said.
The victim’s vehicle is a silver four-door 1993 BMW 740 with California license plate 3XKB366.
Authorities urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
