Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner refused to dismiss the case against Lohan, but said she often sees more serious cases that get reduced to misdemeanors.

In making her ruling, the judge said, “I’m going to give her an opportunity.”

The misdemeanor has a potential penalty of a year in jail.

The judge’s decision came Friday after Deputy District Attorney Danette Meyers concluded her case at a theft hearing against Lohan after calling four witnesses, including two police officers who handled Lohan’s case.

Lohan is accused of stealing a $2,500 diamond necklace from Kamofie & Co. jewelers in Venice.

A May 11 pretrial hearing has been set for the new misdemeanor case. Lohan entered a not guilty plea Friday afternoon. A trial has been tentatively set for June 3.

Here comes another hand slap and a hardy,”Now behave or next time…..” speech

    • Ron

Don’t go to any movie that she is in, even if it is just a bit part. BOYCOTT everything Lindsay Lohan does or promotes. Show movie execs that she is TOXIC.

The judges won’t punish her, but we can. When she can’t get jobs because of her bad behavior, she will suffer. Can you spell SPOILED BRAT?

  • Sanityforus

It just goes on and on. How many of the ‘regular’ public could have had this ‘reduced’ to a misdemeanor like this ? I will tell you NONE. We would have gone to JAIL immediately with NO if’s ands or but’s PERIOD. Yet she gets it all reduced and WATCH she will get ‘probation’ AGAIN with NO jail time ( of course not she has a ‘movie’ to film so she’s going to get an ‘umpteenth’ chance to redeem herself NOT. Why can’t this go to a ‘jury’ so we can HANG her ??? She’s already BOUGHT the legal system !!!!

In making her ruling, the judge said, “I’m going to give her an opportunity.”

Give her an opportunity? Oh yeah, Lohan hasn’t gotten many breaks from the legal system.

  • MaskedMarvyl

Hmm, another celebrity gets a punishment reduced; what a surprise!
If she was a grocery store clerk, would she have been given “another opportunity”?

Once again, celebrity immunity and priviledge at work…..

  • Robert Chandler

I agree with the judge. I think Lohan has an issue going on BUT the penal system has bigger fish to fry!

    • meclo

Whats up with that, another break. Shes been charged and convicted with a number of different offenses over the years and another slap on the wrist. These hollywwods get it because of money, bottom line!!!

  • drozone69

Good she is to beautifull and talented to be railroaded into jail with all the commoners.IE illegal aliens.

  • Meclo

Such Bulls..T, i once stole a tie for a job interview from a thrift store and had to do 28 days in county and do community service. It didnt help that I was on probation for grand theft auto when I served 18 months, but I didnt get an opportunity, what I got was a dam open my eyes experience and learned my lesson. Im now a successful business owner who helps the less fortunate. Maybe she needs a reality jail time experience to wake this spoiled Bit.H up..thats all I am saying-

  • noone

    what a joke!!!!

  • Barbi Winters

Hey, she’s been really good, and has a job coming up. Maybe she got to her “bottom”. She’s not being “let off”, but the necklace is worth what it’s worth. If it’s not a felony, why should she be charged with a felony? I hope she is getting her life together. Finally. It seems like it. Time will tell. She NEEDS to work, so this movie deal may be a big boost for her. I wish her the best.

Why messing around with this lady too much> How many regular people go to jail for something much less that what she has done? We know that she has money; but she is no better that others. Just send her to jail ans stop treating her like a royalty. She goes to the bathroom just like everybody else. treat celebrities just like anybody else.

  • Curtis

This is entirely BS. Anyone else would be under the F*Y93yt923 county jail by now. How many chances is this lady going to get.

  • Tom

Is this any surprise to anyone? Lindsay will self destruct by herself…So i don’t give a rat’s ass!

  • Gunny

This figures… once again the “rich and famous” gets away from justice and the rest of us are held to a higher standard. When will there ever be justice in LA?

  • The SAM

Time for a new judge, ” I often see more serious cases get reduced to misdemeanors” . HA! who gives a rats-a– about the other cases and what do they have to do with her case. and dont hand us that “case law” BS! I have to agree with the majority here. any other “commoner” woulda been slam- dunked.
as the saying goes…”Liberty and justice for all….so long as you can afford it”

  • jujubee1

OMG!!!!! I’m sooooo shocked that this twit is getting yeat another break!!!! It’s so true – celebrities are differnt when it comes to the justice system..
