Teen Shoots Another Teen, 15, In The Buttocks

LOS ANGELES (CBS) —  After a fight near Los Angeles High School Friday morning, one teen decided not to turn the other cheek.

A teenager was in custody Saturday for allegedly shooting a 15-year-old boy as he walked to Los Angeles High School.

The shooting at or near 12th Street and Rimpau Boulevard occurred about 8 a.m. Friday, and a suspect was later arrested and taken to a juvenile lockup, Los Angeles police Lt. Bill Heard of Wilshire Station said.

The high school at 4650 W. Olympic Boulevard was locked down for about an hour after the shooting, police said.

The wounded boy, whose name police withheld, suffered a bullet wound to the buttocks, he said.

A motive for the shooting was not disclosed. The two apparently knew one another. Police said the victim was crossing a road and got into an argument with someone in a white pickup truck moments before the shooting.

Detectives later arrested the suspect at his home, Heard said.
