Man Shot, Prompting School Lockdown In Lake View Terrace

LAKE VIEW TERRACE (CBS) — Police say a man was shot several times Friday in a possible drive-by shooting in Lake View Terrace.

The shooting was reported at 3:17 p.m. at Gager Street and Vanport Avenue, Los Angeles police spokeswoman Officer Sara Faden said. The shooting prompted the lockdown of nearby Fenton Avenue Charter School in Pacoima.

“The victim was apparently standing at the corner and the suspect vehicle is grey, so this is possibly a drive-by,” Faden said.

The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds, but Faden said he was taken to a hospital “conscious and breathing.”

No arrests have been made.
