TORRANCE (CBS) — An El Segundo man was charged Monday with murder for allegedly stabbing his former roommate to death in Lawndale last week.
David Concool, 22, is due in Torrance Superior Court on April 18 for arraignment in connection with the slaying of James Floyd Dukes, who was repeatedly stabbed last Wednesday at the corner of 165th Street and Firmona Avenue.
Dukes asked Concool to move out weeks before the killing and had taken Duke’s vehicle without his permission, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
Dukes made arrangements with Concool to get his car back on the day he was attacked, according to Deputy District Attorney Haralambos Zoumberakis.
Concool was arrested later that day by sheriff’s deputies and jailed on $1 million bail.
