LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Los Angeles Philharmonic maestro Gustavo Dudamel is a dad!
The 30-year-old’s wife, Eloisa Maturen, gave birth to a baby boy Friday night.
Martin Dudamel, weighing in at 6 pounds and 13 ounces, was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the philharmonic announced.
The baby is a first for the couple, who married in 2006. The Venezuelan-born conductor and his wife, a native of Caracas, live in Beachwood Canyon.
Dudamel’s next appearance with the philharmonic is set for May 5 at Disney Hall.
Dudamel also holds top conducting positions with the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra and the Gothenburg Symphony in Sweden.
