VICTORVILLE (AP) — Investigators say a 12-year-old boy has stabbed another middle school youth in a fight over a girl.

San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies were called Tuesday afternoon to a street corner in the Mojave Desert community of Victorville and they found a wounded 13-year-old boy.

The San Bernardino County Sun says a 12-year-old boy with a steak knife was arrested and booked into Apple Valley Juvenile Hall for investigation of assault with a weapon, terrorist threats and possession of a deadly weapon.

The wounded teenager was treated by paramedics for a minor cut.

Deputies say the boys were fighting over a girl.
