Ambulance Struck By Hit-And-Run Driver In Watts
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Authorities say two Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics transporting a patient were injured when their ambulance was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Watts.
Police Sgt. Cy Feliciano tells the Los Angeles Times one paramedic was knocked unconscious and the other suffered an injury to his right shoulder in the accident Saturday night.
The driver of the other vehicle fled on foot and is being sought by police.
Both paramedics were treated at a local hospital and released.
Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says the patient in the ambulance was not apparently affected by the crash and was transferred to another ambulance.
