Kazmir Struggles In 10-7 Loss To Indians
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- Shelley Duncan hit his first homer of the spring, a three-run shot, and the Cleveland Indians overcame a brief hiccup by starter Justin Masterson to beat the Los Angeles Angels 10-7 on Saturday.
Scott Kazmir had a difficult outing for the Angels, allowing four runs and four walks in 4 1-3 innings.
Duncan broke a 4-all tie with his homer off reliever Jason Bulger in the seventh, but the Angels rallied. Alberto Callaspo tripled in two runs to cut the deficit to 7-6 in the bottom half.
He scored on Alexi Amarista's two-out single to tie it. All three runs were charged to Jensen Lewis.
Juan Diaz put Cleveland ahead again with an RBI double in the eighth.
Kazmir, who was 9-15 with a 5.94 ERA last season, made his fourth spring start. He yielded three hits and struck out three.
