ORANGE (AP) — Police say a female patient alleges she was sexually assaulted by a hospital worker while seeking treatment in the emergency room at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange.
The Los Angeles Times reports Tuesday that the hospital reported the assault to police last week, shortly after the woman was treated.
Sgt. Dan Adams says investigators have yet to interview the alleged victim.
Hospital officials refused to provide details about the alleged attack, citing privacy concerns.
An official with the state Department of Public Health says they have opened an investigation but declined to provide further details.
