Cops Chase Alleged DUI Suspect In Burbank, And Stolen Car Suspect Downtown

BURBANK (CBS) — Police chased a DUI suspect in Burbank Friday evening and less than an hour later chased a stolen car suspect through downtown.

The first chase started just before 9  p.m. in Sun Valley on the Ronald Reagan (118) Freeway.

Police then followed the suspect along the 405 and 5.

The chase ended around 9:15.

KCAL9's Desiree Horton was overhead in Sky9 when the suspect got out of his vehicle, stopped at the center median, and started to run across four lanes of the 5 freeway.

The suspect was taken into custody.

Police said the suspect would likely be cited for reckless driving, DUI and failure to yield.

Just before 10 p.m., police pursued another suspect on the 10 Freeway downtown.

Officials said the man was wanted for driving a car reported stolen. They also said the suspect tossed a weapon, believed to be a gun, during the pursuit.

The second chase started in Lincoln Heights.

The suspect reportedly stole a car from a motorist at a gas station who was refueling.

Two people are believed to be in the car.
