Teen Dad Fatally Shot By Deputies After He Allegedly Murdered 5-Month-Old Son

PALMDALE (CBS) — Sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a 17-year-old father Tuesday afternoon after the youth reportedly fatally stabbed his 5-month-old son after an abduction.

The shooting was reported at 3:36 p.m. at 533 E. Avenue P-14.

Nicole Nishida of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau confirmed there was a deputy-involved shooting.

According to a child-abduction alert issued shortly before 2 p.m., Christopher Earl Glass picked up his 5-month-old son from a relative’s home earlier today and drove to the child’s mother’s home. An argument ensued, and Glass drove off with the boy still inside his white SUV, according to the alert.

Glass then allegedly sent a text message to the mother, threatening to stab the boy, according to the alert.

News footage from the scene showed a white SUV that had crashed into a structure, possibly near a Metrolink train station.

After the vehicle crashed, the suspect tried to flee on foot, leading to a deputy-involved shootingm according to various broadcast reports.

Deputies say Glass tried to break into a home of people he did not know. At this time, they said they shot at him. Once inside, another shooting occurred. No deputies were injured.

Officials then raced back to the vehicle to find the baby stabbed. They rushed him to a hospital but he was pronounced dead.

you must be the most insensitive ignorant person, this is tragic but the family doesnt need to hear ur stupid comments put urself in the families shoes they loss two babies if you really look at it. Did you ever think that teens are really 2 young to try to have a serious relationship because their minds aren’t mature enough to deal with the emotions it brings. People just need to start putting there children first and just pay them more attention. He was a really good kid until he lost someone (x2) that he was really really close to and he really needed some professional help that he didnt get but should have, but at the end of the day their are 2 mothers that lost their babies and families lost 2 members this is sad and a horrible situation but ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE HIM so i hope u never have to go through this or the same type of situation and get this same type of response, no i dont agree with what Chris did to Cj or himself but im am and will be their to support the families. Our lil Cj will be missed and kept in our hearts forever and ever, and Chris will be missed as well no matter what the situation. SO NOW YOU SIT AND MARINADE ON THAT STUPID A** F*@K!!!! Both of them were someone’s children. My heart and sympathy goes out to both families. This situation just goes to show, that our young people need help. Its sad that the youth of today feel that death is the only way to deal with situations. We must provide better education, resources and support for children otherwise our future looks grim.

R.I.p little one…..on the other hand Metrolink employees are some serious robotic tools with no sense of logic…….I was assigned with the shuttling of passengers from palmdale back to Lancaster since the train couldn’t stop at Lancaster because of this turds stupidity…..now its 11 o’clock and I’ve been held hostage now by Metrolink because four mysterious riders that requested to be taken to union station 4 HOURS AGO can’t be found and Metrolink thinks they r somehow still in the area….IDIOTS they r gone already who the hells going to wait more than an hour for accommodation….. they took a cab and are probably in the process of nailing the receipt to u guys…..NOW LET ME GO HOME ALREADY..:….:…..thanx 4 the rant I’m now gonna take a nap..

This was definitely a tragic situation, and the young father was obviously disturbed to a degree that caused this to happen. It is not up to anyone to applaud his death, and for those who knew him and defend his character, you must be asking yourself was there anything you could have done? If you are not asking yourself that question, how about, examining your conscious If you knew him well, there had to be some signs that showed a change in his actions or maybe comments he may have made that were taken lightly. I am a grandmother and I know the pain of a lost one. Let’s not point fingers, or blame, but examine what each one could have done to help avoid this, then pray for both families, and don’t forget the friends who also share in this loss. I pray for both families that God will show them how to deal with this tragedy. My heart goes out especially to the young mother who will need much love, support and understanding. I cry with you, and pray for you that God will comfort you and keep you in his everlasting grace.
