DANA POINT (CBS) — Authorities arrested 18 illegal immigrants in a boat off Dana Point.

The 15 men and three women — ranging in age from 20-50 and all believed to be from Mexico — were taken into custody Tuesday morning, said U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.

“All were in the United States illegally,” Jimenez said.

The group was on a fishing boat spotted about six miles west of Dana Point.

The people will undergo background checks and, if not wanted for serious crimes, returned to Mexico.
