FULLERTON (AP) – Josh Greene scored 19 points and hit the clinching 3-pointer as Cal State Northridge rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit to edge Cal State Fullerton 70-68 Thursday night.
Greene made six baskets, all from 3-point range, as the Matadors (10-14, 7-4 Big West) won for the sixth time in eight games.
After the Gauchos’ Michael Lizarraga tied it at 66 with 1:20 left, Perry Webster’s two free throws put the Titans back ahead.
But Greene nailed a 3-pointer with 24 seconds left for a 69-68 lead, and Lizarraga tacked on a free throw.
Lenny Daniel had a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds for Cal State Northridge, and Rashaun McLemore and Lizarraga scored 10 apiece.
Andre Hardy led the Titans (9-16, 5-7) with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Jer’Vaughn Johnson and Orlando Brown scored 16 each.
Cal State Fullerton led 50-36 with 13:20 left before Northridge stormed back.
