CASTAIC (AP) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says deputies have found what appears to be a human skull inside a home in Castaic.
Officials said Thursday that the deputies were serving a narcotics search warrant when they came across the partial skull in the home’s den. They also allegedly found an ounce of methamphetamine.
Deputies arrested 67-year old Gary Powell for possession of a controlled substance. Officials say he is known by the nickname “Grave Digger.”
The coroner’s office took the skull and will determine whether it is indeed human.
Sheriff’s investigators will work with the coroner’s office to try to uncover its origin.
