Boy Accused Of Pointing Lasers At Plane, LAPD Helicopter
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police say a 14-year-old boy is accused of pointing a green laser at a plane headed to Los Angeles International Airport and at a police helicopter.
Los Angeles police Sgt. Mike Richardson told City News Service that the boy was booked Tuesday night on suspicion of pointing a laser at the pilot.
The Federal Aviation Administration says lasers can blind or distract pilots and damage eyesight.
Richardson says the boy is being held in juvenile custody.
