LOS ANGELES (AP) — Sarah Palin is honoring one Reagan and offending another with the same speech.

The former Alaska governor is scheduled to speak in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Friday at a tribute to former President Ronald Reagan. It’s just one of the celebrations marking the centennial of the 40th president’s birth on Feb. 6.

His son, Ron Reagan, tells The Associated Press he doesn’t see anything in common between his dad and the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, who was invited to speak by the event’s sponsor, the conservative Young America’s Foundation.

But former Reagan speechwriter Kenneth Khachigian praised the choice of Palin to speak, saying her philosophy and political fortunes were shaped by the Reagan era.

Palin’s political committee did not immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment.

Why would she be there as a speaker? Last time I checked she was just an ordinary citizen, not a politician. My next door neighbor wanted to speak too, why not let him ? Absurd, and terrifying to think she still gets taken seriously. Thank goodness for common sense. I see right through her gotcha logic and her mavericky ways. What a complete moron & a quitter.

I really don’t understand why anyone takes Grifty McQuitter seriously. She’s had her 15 minutes of fame when she ran for VP alongside Father Time McCain and should slink off to her front porch so she can see Russia and machine gun wolves. Loser, to be sure! I wonder when Saint Ronnie is going to be formally canonized as a saint. I guess Grifty could then be installed as his handmaiden.

Why shouldn’t she be there as a speaker? She represents a lot of conservative interests in this country and has governing experience. You guys are just filling this with rhetoric. Would you rather have Michelle Malkin, who is a commentator who does not have governing experience? Get over it.

    1. ES says:

Conservative interests or morons? Amazing to think that there’s more idiots like her around. Scary.

    2. Eeeeeeeew Sarah Palin says:

She shouldn’t be there because she DOES NOT have any message except to propel vitriolic rhetoric. Palin isn’t smart at all, she makes other’s opinions her own..and misues words and phrases in an effort to sound intellectual! Fact is, she is poorly educated and loud mouth! Even her own party is getting sick of her!
Go home Palin to your moose and bison in cold blustery Alaska..and preach there until you turn blue in the face! No one cares to hear your stupidity!

By the way, she does provide for some good laughs and entertainment 🙂

    Go home Sarah.
    Your 15 minutes are up.
