Smyth Scores Twice, Lifts Kings To Win Over Oilers

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) -- Ryan Smyth scored two goals to lead the Los Angeles Kings to a 3-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night.
  
Jack Johnson added a goal and two assists for the Kings, who completed the second game of a 10-game road trip. Los Angeles improved to 4-0-1 in its last five outings.
  
Magnus Paajarvi scored for the Oilers (15-27-8), who have lost two straight and 16 of 19. Goalie Nikolai Khabibulin has dropped his last 12 starts.
  
Edmonton coach Tom Renney was behind the bench despite the death of his father on Tuesday.
