Murder Defendant Urinates In Murrieta Courtroom
MURRIETA (AP) — One of four ex-Marines facing trial for the Riverside County deaths of a Camp Pendleton sergeant and his wife is getting a mental exam after urinating during a court hearing.
A judge granted a request Monday by the lawyer for 23-year-old Kesaun Sykes to suspend criminal proceedings until psychiatrists can evaluate Sykes, who goes by the nickname Psycho.
Sykes, 21-year-old Emrys John and Tyrone Miller and Kevin Cox, both 23, are each charged with two counts of murder and other felonies for the 2008 shooting deaths of Sgt. Jan Pietrzak and wife Quiana Jenkins-Pietrzak, whose bound bodies were found in their French Valley home. Jenkins-Pietrzak was sexually assaulted.
The Riverside Press-Enterprise says Sykes stood up at a Friday hearing and began urinating, using his hands to fling drops of urine.
