It must be that dry British humor we keep hearing about.  A cake maker in England is offering this “bleeding heart” cupcake for Valentine’s Day. To quote its website: “Scarily realistic, each edible heart cake is baked with a delicious red velvet sponge, cream cheese frosting and blackcurrant & cherry ‘blood.’” To quote my old fraternity brothers late on Saturday nights: “barf.”

For about $11, they’ll ship it (not sure if that includes the U.S.) in a plastic box, tied with a ribbon. And some of the money even goes to charity.  I hope it’s a charity for those who are traumatized, after opening boxes with realistic looking bleeding hearts, on Valentine’s Day.
