Breaking: 1, Possibly 2, Killed In Wild Gunfight With Police In Garden Grove

GARDEN GROVE (CBS) — The CBS2/KCAL9 assignment desk was following a lead about a possible "double shooting" in Garden Grove Wednesday evening involving sheriff's deputies and what was described as "multiple crime scenes."

The dead are not police officers.

It is unclear what led to the gunfight.

Garden Grove Police confirm that Magnolia Avenue at Garden Grove Boulevard is shut going northbound and southbound "because of police activity."

Two officers were reportedly injured in the confrontation with the suspects but their injuries are not considered life threatening.

Aaron Fitzgerald, reporting overhead in Sky9, says "at least one fatality" is clearly visible. That deceased suspect could be clearly seen hanging out of a vehicle mortally wounded.

At 10:30, Fitzgerald reported there were "multiple" crime scenes in and around Garden Grove Boulevard and that there was an increasing police presence in the area.
