ARCADIA (AP) — Salty Sarah defeated Church Camp by three-quarters of a length to win Thursday’s $70,020 Guadalajara Purse for fillies and mares at Santa Anita, giving trainer Bob Baffert his 18th win of the meet.

Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, Salty Sarah ran six furlongs in 1:08.56 and paid $10.20, $4.40 and $2.80. Church Camp returned $3.40 and $2.60. Crisis of Spirit, the 6-5 favorite also trained by Baffert, was another head back in third and paid $2.40 to show.

Crisis of Spirit had to take up when blocked behind horses a furlong from the finish line and she was unable to free herself in time.
