Gardena High School Shooting Victims Both Making Progress
GARDENA (AP) — A 15-year-old girl who was shot in the head when a smuggled gun went off at a Los Angeles high school is making progress and another wounded student is out of the hospital.
The girl's skull was broken by a bullet that also hit a 15-year-old boy in the neck Tuesday at Gardena High School.
Dr. Gail Anderson at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center says the girl remains in critical condition Thursday but she's more awake and can move her arms and legs a little better.
Anderson says the bullet that went through the boy's neck missed major nerves, arteries and his spine. He was released from the hospital Wednesday night.
