HESPERIA (AP) — Video of a marijuana puffing toddler has led to the arrest of a Southern California desert couple.
San Bernardino County sheriff’s Deputy Lisa Guerra says she was tipped Saturday that 20-year-old Melanie Soliz and 24-year-old Blake Hightower were abusive parents who allowed their 23-month-old son to smoke pot.
The Victorville Daily Press says video provided by the tipster confirmed the allegation. Sheriff’s spokeswoman says the video is evidence and won’t be released.
Investigators say the couple videotaped the toddler smoking from a marijuana pipe.
Guerra went to the couple’s Hesperia home and Soliz, who is seven months pregnant, was arrested and booked for investigation of cruelty to a child. Hightower surrendered Saturday night and was also booked.
