Gusty Wind, Warm Temperatures Expected This Weekend

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Dry offshore flow has brought gusty winds to the mountains and passes of Southern California and unseasonable warming throughout the region.

The National Weather Service says a few isolated high mountain sites reported gusts over 60 mph early Friday.

Meteorologists say the winds are being produced by surface high pressure over the Great Basin which will continue to build through the weekend.

The air flowing from the interior toward the coast has pushed back the normal ocean influence and highs are expected to reach the 80s in some areas.

Forecasters say the offshore flow may diminish a bit on Sunday allowing a weak sea breeze to return to coastal areas that afternoon.
