HEMET (AP) — A California Highway Patrol officer got quite a surprise after pulling over a suspected drunken driver near Hemet earlier this week — a goat sitting in the front passenger seat of the car.

The officer pulled over the vehicle on Tuesday and found two men and a goat inside.

Riverside County Animal Services Department spokesman John Welsh tells the Los Angeles Times that neither man claimed he owned the goat, which led authorities to believe it may have been stolen.

The goat, being called Sweetie,  is currently at a shelter. Sweetie will be adopted if his owners don’t come forward.

It is amazing what a person will do when they are totally smashed. Apparently the goat must have looked really good to the guys after the bar closed.
