LOS ANGELES (CBS) — A winter storm is snarling road travel and forcing airlines to delay and cancel flights up and down the East Coast.

Several flights from Los Angeles International Airport to New York’s Kennedy Airport and Boston’s Logan Airport were cancelled early Wednesday morning.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey reported 675 canceled flights Wednesday morning at LaGuardia Airport. Kennedy Airport had 300 cancellations and Newark Liberty 440.

Every flight in and out of Boston’s Logan Airport was delayed. Philadelphia’s airport reported about 20 dozen canceled outbound flights and 100 canceled arrivals.

    The solution is simple, take Amtrak. Why sit around two days, when during those two days at the airport, you could be on board a nice warm comfortable Amtrak Superliner train heading to Chicago! Trains are the “all weather” mode of transport, and can make it through just about any of the worst snow conditions you could think of! Get on board today!
