Driver, 22, Killed After Slamming Pickup Truck Into 2 Trees In Fullerton

FULLERTON (CBS) — A 22-year-old motorist was killed early Wednesday morning in Fullerton after he slammed his pickup truck  into two trees.

Authorities said Ryan Steven Rivera crashed his 2004 Nissan Titan pickup into two trees at Malvern and Target Way.

Fullerton Police Sargeant Andrew Goodrich said the crash occured just before 2 a.m.

Rivera was declared dead at the scene. His passenger, 26, escaped without injuries.

Investigators said the men had been drinking prior to the crash and have not ruled out alcohol or rain as the determining factor in the crash, Goodrich said.
