Chargers sign linebacker Brandon Moore
(CBS) -- The San Diego Chargers signed linebacker Brandon Moore and announced the release of linebacker Darry Beckwith, This according to Christopher Smith on Twitter. Moore is a former San Francisco 49ers linebacker, he has recorded 242 career tackles and 15 sacks, but hasn't played in an NFL game since 2007.
He spent all six of his NFL seasons in San Francisco and made 92 tackles with 6 1/2 sacks in 2006, his best statistical season.
He played for the United Football League's Las Vegas Locomotives the past two years, helping the team to two championships.
Moore also has extensive experience on special teams, including a team-best 22 tackles for the 49ers' unit in 2004. His brother Rob Moore made the Pro Bowl as a receiver with Arizona.
San Diego also signed offensive tackle Eric Young to the practice squad.
