’30 Rock’ Actor Tracy Morgan Recovering From Kidney Transplant

LOS ANGELES (AP) — “30 Rock” star Tracy Morgan is recovering from a kidney transplant.

A statement released Monday by Morgan’s publicist says Morgan is doing well and taking “much-needed time” to recover from the surgery earlier this month.

The statement says the actor-comedian looks forward to returning to work on the New York-based NBC sitcom after the holidays.

The 42-year-old Morgan plays the goofy star of a TV show on “30 Rock.” Another “30 Rock” cast member, Grizz Chapman, also received a new kidney earlier this year.

NBC didn’t immediately respond to a query about how Morgan’s surgery would affect production of the sitcom.

    Speedy recovery, Tracy!

I donated a kidney and it was the greatest experience of my life. If I can do it again, I would do it again tomorrow.

Since my kidney donation, I have been wanting to do more. So I now have a project to help others who need a kidney. I don’t get paid for this and don’t charge a fee. My brother donated a kidney as well, to someone on my list of people in need of a kidney.

One of the kidney matches I had this year, happened at Cedars Sinai.

If anyone out there is considering kidney donation and would like more info – please feel free to contact me!

    Sincerely,
