Couple Busted For Possessing Counterfeit Money

PALM DESERT (CBS) —  Palm Desert officials Saturday arrested two residents on suspicion of possessing counterfeit money.

Officers from the Palm Desert Police Department Special Enforcement Team and U.S. Secret Service served a search warrant at a residence in the 74800 block of Borrego Drive.  Counterfeit currency was allegedly found during the search, said sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Buompensiero.

Steven Jacobs, 51, and Autumn Loza, 24, were arrested at the residence, he said.

Why did my comment just disappear?!!

This story has a problem. We are told that the arrest was effected by the U.S. Secret Service and the Palm Desert Police Dept. Why–then–are we hearing a report from a Sgt. from the county sheriffs dept.? These are distinct enforcement entities.
